Portland stone, H10x W33 x D22cm. Hand-carved image of the basic shape of The Ivory House’ in St Katherine’s Dock, London. Aside from its period in history as a warehouse for elephant tusks, architecturally it is the friendliest, most inviting building I know in London. The sculpture celebrates the beauty of simple geometric shapes, the shapes of building toys, sandcastles and monopoly pieces and their tactile appeal, their inter-play in space and with light, emphasized by the contrasting tree shapes at one end.
